  1. Hi,
I think I have your cat!

He strayed across my path on 15th August, the night your cat went missing, he followed two young men from the Summerstown area into Deanrock Estate and was nearly knocked down by a car. I took him in that night but he wanted to get out again later. He was around the area for a while and was living under a car at one point. I started feeding him and he was coming in and out to me. I was then told that he belonged to a family on the estate who did not want him – two people confirmed this. I didn’t know what to do as I was going away on holiday at that time, so I decided to put him into a cattery while I was away. The vets said he would have to be vaccinated to go in there, which was done, and that he would have to be kept indoors for three weeks!

When I got back from holidays I kept him inside as I was told to do, all the time thinking he belonged to this other family on the estate who did not want him. After a while I began to make my own enquiries and it turned out that the information I was given was totally incorrect – he did not belong to that family at all – a case of mistaken identity! I began looking for the owners and rang the Animals’ Home and other phone lines. They advised to go online and start looking at posted pics of lost cats, which I did and I saw his photo this morning! I thought there would be a telephone number where I could ring you but not so, just this message service. I’m sure it’s the same cat. He’s very gentle and calm and has made friends with my own little dog, he’s a credit to you. You must really miss him. It will make my heart soar if he really is your cat and if I can help to re-unite you. He’s here with me now so could you please ring me on: (M) 086 1029172 or (021) 4314783. Many Thanks and All Best Wishes, Una Lyons, Togher

  2. Great news Una, I have texted the potential owner on the number they have listed above – 0831487818 – fingers crossed.
