  1. I’m feeding a black cat for a few days now near Kilmurry. Just wondering whether it could be yours. He’s always at the same spot. Parallel-road to the N22, beside the entrance to Kilmurry wood, few meters ahead (coming from cork) is an open space, concreted, loads of dumping around. He’s always there in the ditch and coming out when I bring him food but won’t let me near him. Very thin.

  2. Wrote yesterday, still not up here.
I’m feeding a black cat near Warrenscourt-Entrance for a few days now. Might be yours?
left hand side (coming from Cork) pass the Warrenscourt-Entrance, few meters ahead is a concreted open spot. The cat is always there and is coming out when I bring food but won’t come near me.

Hello Astrid. My name is Lorraine. And I live just outside Kilmurry village in clonmacow. The road going from Kilmurry to Cookstown by the old graveyard. Thank you for replying to my post. My number is 0217335858. Thank you for replying to add. My cat’s name is buddy he went missing out of the blue over a month ago. He is fully black. He has one eye which is slightly cloudy. It could well be my cat I would be very happy if it was. Was wondering where exactly is the cat. Is it in the Kilmurry entrance to the woods, by Kilmurry village. Or the other entrance. I could go and look for him.

Also Astrid. Thank you very much for replying to add. And thank you for feeding him, not sure if it is him. But if it is I would be very happy. I would be quite happy to pay a good reward. Miss him very badly.

  4. Hi Lorraine, will ring you tomorrow. It’s probably not your cat unfortunately. His tail is brownish and I think he has a small white spot on his chest, but you can have a look at him anyway. I’ll keep feeding him until I have a better plan.
Directions: coming from Cork, take a left in Lissarda towards Kilmurry and the next right. This road is going parallel to the N22. Stay on that road for a good while. Goes over a small bridge, keeps going and then after a while you have on the left the entrance to the Warrenscourt park. You can’t miss ist. Its well maintained with park spaces, wooden fence and so on.
Pass it, keep going for another few meters. You will pass a junction and shortly after this junction there is a spot on your left, concreted but ends in the ditch. Loads of rubbish in the ditch, sometimes parking trucks there. That’s where I feed the cat. He is very shy, won’t come near me but at least he’s showing up when I’m there with food.
Will be out there again tomorrow (Friday) morning around 8am (after night shift) and Saturday midday.
I’m trying to upload a picture. Hope it comes up:

Hello Astrid I went to the place you said, and I saw the cat there. It is not my cat I put some food out. Poor creature is very thin. It was shy of me too. But came for the food. Felt very sorry for it. My friend thinks that it could be a female cat and have small kittens near by somewhere, that might explain why it stays in the same spot all the time. I would like to help you feed it. But unfortunately I do not drive. And it is a good distance from where I live. But I could probably get a lift down there twice a week, and feed it. I will go on Sunday afternoon and feed it again. So maybe between the two of us. It will have a chance to survive. It was very shy of me too. But when it took the food and I was leaving it sat up and watched me go. Seemed very grateful for being fed. I think that in time the cat will become more comfortable with us, and will come closer. I think that the cat may be born in the wild, and isn’t used to people. I remember myself there about 5years ago. A black cat came to my house. It was like that. I used to feed her everyday. This went on for week. She was very shy, I used to try to being her into the house to sit by the fire. But it took a long time to coax her Then one day I looked out my patio window. And there she was. She brought with her 3kittens which she had put up a tree, I always remember it was in the middle of January and it was snowing. My black cat that went missing was on of those kittens. Anyhow I would be happy to help you feed the cat. I maybe can come on days when you are unable. Best wishes from Lorraine.
