Description
This morning when I was walking my dog near Coal Quay in Cork, I saw a straying Bichon Frise. He/She was pretty muddy and looked like she/he is middle aged. When I approached the dog it bolted and headed across the bridge towards Shandon. A woman was able to stop him and she took some photos for social media. As she was going to work, I put my dog’s lead on the straying Bichon Frise and planned to bring it home to feed it and follow up on its owners. Unfortunately, it slipped the lead on Shandon Street and ran off. I tried to follow it, while not scaring it but could not keep up. Last seen, it was heading in direction of Sunday’s Well at about 7.30am on Thursday March 7th.
The dog had no name tags but it was wearing a collar. Unfortunately, that collar is no now longer on it because it slipped out of it. The collar was a bright lime/luminous green and it said ‘doodlebone’. The dog is quite scared but it seems to be gentle and, for the time I had it, walked very well on the lead. I am guessing it is in middle age, maybe 6 or 7 years, and it is on the larger side of Bichon Frise, (Not sure if it is a 100% Bichon). Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to get a photo but it has a full coat and that coat is muddy underneath.
